First Walk Since Rehab
On the last day of rehab Mar 5th, Lei and I were walking 1.5 miles at 3 MPH on the treadmill, I was at an incline of 4%, Lei’s was at 1%, we were in the gym at the VA hospital, which had VERY conditioned air, a literally hermetically sealed environment. We were doing this 3 days a week.
Unfortunately we haven’t taken the time to do our walking since, finally today we did our first official walk in the wild. In the desert on a pretty nice graded dirt road with only the occasional boulder to watch for and avoid. We put our goal at 1 mile out, but I didn’t pay attention to the fact when I mapped it that it was uphill. We went .4 miles from 3650’ elevation to 3800’. We went about 1 to 1.5 MPH uphill and 3-5 MPH back down to camp.

Good heavens…we need to get moving! :!:
i left a comment, via Email, and should have left it here. so did this walk occur in Beatty area? did you find a nice place to camp?
Yep, Larry, a canyon west of town, it was pretty quiet but it was trashier than we hope, mostly broken bottles.
a lot of people just dont care about their trash. we have that problem here at our lake and campgrounds. tourists just leave tons of trash behind as if they think, “Who cares?”
