Tombigbee Guinea Fowl
April 8th ~ Day 9 of our 2015 Road Trip
Finding forest dispersed camp sites can be difficult, I sure like the few ranger offices that put out maps online, we assume that the forest rangers make finding information on whats available in the forests hard because they really don’t want regular Americans out there messing up their good thing, or maybe they just got real bad I.T. guys?
But not Tombigbee they had a link to this cool map with dispersed sites all picked out, we have picked out our own in the past but you can drive on some bad roads for hours and never find a good spot, so its best to have one they have already cleared and marked.

This spot was 3 or 4 miles off the highway on the other side of Choctaw Lake and over the river and thru the wood and turn back around cause they got roads blocked with gates for no reason cause the other end isn’t and before your know it your driving by some houses that are out in the middle of the national forest with some crazy looking birds running around the yard! I can’t believe I was right, my first guess was guinea hens, and I found some articles with pictures and sho-nuf.
This article says they are tasty, I can’t wait to eat one :P
