Boondocking AWAY from Lewiston, Idaho
We arrived in Lewiston, Idaho the morning of July 8th, after driving thru Hell. Northeast Oregon and southeast Washington make Salton Sea look inviting, well maybe not that bad, no, it is awful. The bad news is that Lewiston was no relief, I decided it is the elevation, downtown Lewiston is at 700ft, the weather was oppressive by 10AM, by 1PM we were done stocking up at Winco, our favorite store and we were looking frantically for a way out. we found Mann Lake at 1700ft that wasn’t quite as bad but it was still too close to the city and HOT +-100 degrees.
Fortunately we found this spot at Waha lake reservoir, it ain’t much but its at 3500 ft and we found some relief, the last 2 days were so miserable we were looking forward driving east across the Camas Prairie which is at an even higher elevation and should be cooler.
