We had a great visit with Larry & Patty. Larry let us have the archery club president’s spot, all level, and all the fresh water we could use.

The View

Larry and Pattys Beautiful View

The scenery and serenity of their place, nestled into the hillside, was a calming respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was so good to just sit and talk, reminiscing in the afternoon sun, filtering through the massive shade trees Larry planted 15 years ago.

Around the Lake

Larry took us around the lake, and even though I think he thought we were weird, he gladly took us over to Woford Heights to see the old and new cemeteries. We got to meet Larry’s other brother Randy, he is the caretaker of the newer part of the cemetery, as well as a fellow usher at Larry’s church. Randy helped us get photos of headstones requested by loved ones living too far away to come to the cemetery themselves. Mary Ferguson & Reba Starkey.

Then we went to Old Keysville. We hiked around a little and Larry said he thought he could see the light of Old Keysville from his house. So, I took this picture of where I think their place is. I think I can see Larry & Patty’s place in this photo!

They have certainly found a great place to live and explore. We’re looking forward to being able to come back for longer visits and more exploring.
