Now this is a place most people just zip by, unless of course you miss calculated and you need to get gas. It’s also known as Four Corners. It’s the junction of US Route 395 and Hwy 58, in California. We’ve had a burger at “the Astro Burger” but I don’t remember being overly impressed, so we just made our own sandwiches and ate them across the street at the motel.the Astro Burger

Motel of the Past

I searched the internet for any photos of the motel in all it’s glory—before it became the ruins that it is now, but I couldn’t find any, maybe someone with better internet search skills can find some and share them with us.

Looked like maybe someone might be living at the end of the rooms in a separate building.

The property is for sale. This might be just the spot for one of those retro motels, the kind that are trying to recapture the heyday of red-road traveling!
