So, it’s been one year plus 4 days since we moved onto the “property”. Everyone is working hard, “making hay while the sun shines” as the saying goes. Brian and the littles come over on Wednesday nights for dinner, visiting and relaxing. Brian has been working hard to get more remodeling done and a replacing the roof, before winter hits, he’s a little worn out…but makes for a good play cushion all the same.

We finally got the last tile up in the bathroom and then grouted and now we can get the rest of the bathroom done. It’s been a functioning room all this time, just not pretty.

The Fourth of July Parade is never disappointing. We started off the day with a BBQ at the kids around the swimming hole, with friends and more kids! Then we all headed to Main Street, to watch the parade that started at 5:30. This year we had Smokey the Bear in the parade! According to some sources it’s not all that easy to get him to come to your event, so it was a real honor to have him. After the parade we all hung out at the Fairgrounds/Park, with a large segment of the town, relaxing in the cool grass, eating ice cream and snow-cones, the kids racing and tearing around playing in the park, waiting for it to get dark, not till 10 pm, to watch the fireworks.

The next day–Matthew’s Birthday! It was a great time, had by all and especially the birthday boy!
