The Sixties

This was 1964 in Lake View Terrace in the foothills of the San Fernando Valley. I used to love to ride our skateboards down the sidewalk on the hill in front of my cousins house. I’ve never seen this photo until recently, my Aunt Joan just sent it to me in a packet of genealogy info!

Metal Wheels

Those are metal wheels on the skateboards! I don’t think they had pivoting trucks either, I was never able to maneuver my board nor did I become much of an expert with a skateboard.

Cousins

That is almost all of us Morrow cousins. Carol in front with Phil on her lap, then Bobby, then not a cousin but Auntie Em, Kathy, Lil’ Frank, me and Randy bringing up the rear! Standing on the lawn is my mom Doris~Aunt Poots, Aunt Dot, and Grossie our grandmother. It looks like my mom is calling out “all aboard”, but she is probably hollering for my brother George to come get in the photo!
