We’re having a great time getting to know the ropes on the farm animals. They do seem to be wondering who we are and I can kinda hear them say, “where’s Julia and Sara”?! You know how chickens and ducks are. Chickens seem to be clucking their tongues at you, saying you’re doing it wrong, and the ducks, they’re just laughing at us!

We woke up to about a foot or more of more snow! It was really fluffy snow. So Randy shoveled the trail we have to the barn. We could still the barn from our front porch when we headed out to feed the chickens, ducks and sheep. Like we all like to say here on the homestead, “free exercise”! We didn’t know how big a deal the snow was till we got back to our house and read some comments on Facebook, and the local online newspaper, that there were warnings not to travel if at all possible. The power was out further up on Highland Flats, and up in Copeland. Our power went out for a short while at 5:30 am, but came right back on, I’m so grateful for that. Right after we got back to the house, the sun came out and before I could grab my camera and start taking pictures, the snow on the roof started sliding off. It sounds really loud when it does that.

Woke up today to sunny skies. Hoping to get the driveways all plowed before the rain and snow forecasted for Wednesday & Thursday. The kids friend Brice came in the night and got most of the snow off their roof. He said he was coming back after work today to get more off! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we love it here and it’s the giving hearts of the people here that is the major factor why we love it so!
