I can’t believe it’s been 38 years, it seems like everyday something reminds me of how old I am, I can’t believe the picture is in color, I’m not sure I have seen it in color before.

I was 14 and had just graduated from Junior High. My father loved anything and everything about space travel, NASA. He didn’t really “make” me watch the news with him…but I knew that if I didn’t I would somehow be un-American and his enthusiasm did make me feel like it was momentous. But honestly at the time it was all too boring to me, (I was a teenage girl after all). He bought a 8mm “movie” that we would have to watch. I’m sorry now that it burned in our fire. The movie Apollo 13 helped me see how really remarkable …space travel “the final frontier”, really is. He was a Trekker too!
