 “Tabitha” the witch? Black cats are cool; I had one from “Socks'” litter I called “Midnight At The Oasis.” He had six toes on each paw, and when you looked at him in full sunlight, he was really dark brown. Skittish when young, but I grew on him and he really liked to be petted. He and “Pete” (my dog) used to follow me around on hikes through the forest in my backyard. They were both young, kitten and puppy. and Midnight tolerated Pete rough-housing with him. Too bad he disappeared, I really liked him.
I hope Tabitha grows to like youse-guys.
Shes beautiful! She could be Salems sister. Chris had an all black cat when we were kids named Zig Zag. I thought that was the coolest cat ever and always wanted an all black cat. I wonder what it is about black cats. My Salem likes all of us but does not care for outsiders. All she has to do is hear someone knock on the door and shes outta here. Runs and hides under my bed until the coast is clear or shes really hungry or has to use the box. Have fun with your new family member. XXOO
@Larry: Tabitha is the Aramaic version of the name Dorcas in the Greek. I have been doing so much genealogy, specifically on my paternal grandmothers side. And my gr-grandmother’s name was Dorcas. Also, in my Bible reading here at the end of the year, I got to Acts 9:36, where Peter prayed and brought Tabitha of Joppa back to life. So I guess a black cat that just showed up one day had to be named “Tabitha”. She is getting to fit in very well with us. She’ll be happier when Nim grows up and stops pestering her.
