We woke to rain this morning and an email from our friend Fred, inviting us down to breakfast at the Sunset Grill. No not the one in Hollywood, the one in West Columbia, SC

It was my first presidential primary meet and greet, to hear a candidate speak. It wasn’t really a stump speech, come to find out it was a radio interview with Andrew Gobeil, a guy from the local PBS station. It should be on TV too, tonight in SC at 7:30PM. I guess we will be watching and hoping the camera pans the crowd.

I was engaged in a conversation with a friendly young woman, come to find out she was a reporter for The State newspaper here in Columbia, her photographer took several very close up pictures of me, none of which will be very flattering, I’m afraid. Not even as lovely  as this one here.

I went there undecided between Fred and Mitt. We really enjoyed listening to him, there was lots of joking, about Law & Order, the media, Bill Clinton, Tipper Gore, us Seniors, the children photographers, of course Huckabee. But, seriously, with all my research he seems to be the most conservative (Less government) & strong on national defense. So I have decided that he is the one!
