Essex Montana Camp
We spent another arduous day searching the Flathead forest off the US 2 for a decent place to camp for a few days, what a waste. Ended up at another Flathead river access only about 5 miles east, right below Essex. We had been looking to at least stay 2 nights cause it is Friday. Lots of flies again, nasty, hopefully it was just the time of year. Steady stream of people rafting. It is interesting to watch them preparing, they load up a bunch of stuff, looks like they must camp along the river as they go.
This river just looks so pretty from the overpass, it is a light aqua marine color like the Caribbean, it is hard to resist.
After 2 nights in the 2nd best spot, everybody finally left the best spot, so we moved closer to the river with more sun for the solar panels and decided to stay a couple more nights.

“I am Redeemed!”
i was just reading an article in a Sunset magazine im subscribed to about alternate locations of vacation spots in the Northwest. Glacier NP is the best alternative to Yellowstone (at this time of year). good accomadations and less people/tourists.
