We just watched this movie on DVD last night. It was the most inspiring movie I’ve seen in a very long time. I encourage everyone to watch this movie.

This 74 minute documentary is excellent. It’s about the more than 80 WWII veterans that returned to Iwo Jima on March 12, 2005 to mark the 60th anniversary of the historic island battle. It is the other side of the coin to the movie “Flags of our Fathers”. You come away with a feeling…a knowing of why and how we became the most powerful nation in the world, and a clearer understanding of the America you grew up in.

The stories of some of those men and theirs sons has motivated me to get the stories of my “fathers” written down, so that I can pass their legacy down to the next generation.
