Fair Time 2017
This year we all participated in the Fair, in one way or another. I volunteered again in the Flower Department, helping my friend Tess, but this year I had a much better grasp on the order and what the judges are looking for. It’s a lot of work but makes a beautiful display! I was shocked that I didn’t have a single picture of all our efforts or any of the gorgeous flowers! Next year. The kids entered some awesome Veggie Critters, Julia entered some of her photographs from her summer school photography class, Sara entered some of her drawings and we all went to as many events as we could! Needless to say we love our small town fair and all the people involved.
Matthew was too shy to hold up his critter so dad did the honors.
Waiting for the Parade!
Smokey the Bear was still on hand for this year’s Fair Parade.
The Zucchini Races!
Matthew’s friends Gunner & Archer (2 boys middle of the table holding their zucchini’s) are watching and cheering from the sidelines as his car races down the ramp!
And the Award goes to…
My Zucchini Pineapple bread was auctioned off during the opening ceremonies to raise funds to keep the Fair going. It raised $180!
Other awards and some interesting sights.
Looks like ya’all had a great time. So glad you guys are happy there.
It was a blast! It would be so awesome if you guys could come up some summer!
Matthew,
I love your critter for the Fair. Can’t tell just what it really looks like with Dad holding it, but it is sure a critter of some kind. Hope you have never seen one like that on the property. It would certainly scare me if one showed up.
Sammi,
Congratulations on making something to enter at the Fair. Love your pinapple bird. It is so creative. It looks like everyone had a wonderful time and I bet you are already thinking about something to enter next year.
It sounds like you are all busy with planting, animals to take care of the picking stuff out of the garden. What fun!
Sara,
Congratulations on your ribbons at the Fair. Your Art is wonderful. Love the Fall one with the leaves. I loved to color, paint and design things when I was growing up too.
Your art will come in handy with whatever you decide to do when you are grown up. Good for you being creative.
Julia,
Congratulations on the ribbons you won at the Fair. When I was in High School and studied photography, my plan was to have a photo shop when I graduated. After graduation I went back to New Jersey to see all our aunts and cousins. Audrey Collins and I talked about opening a shop when she graduated but we never did it. I got my first box camera for my 12th birthday and never stopped taking picutures my whole life.
All my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren use their phones instead of regular cameras. Way to go! Keep up with it.
Love you all, Aunt Joan
