Great Aunt Lynne’s Big Five-0 Birthday Party

May 25th, 2007 LeiLei Posted in Announcements, Family Events No Comments »

It’s taken us a long time to get this posted…but not because Lynne’s surprise party was not just the best party ever! George and Shannon did such a great job, the party turned out just wonderful. So many people came, “old” friends and new friends, and family from far and near, and I’m sure we all like to think it was still a “Surprise” for her. George Bar-B-Que’d Tri-Tip and shish-kabobs to perfection and Shannon took care of all the rest of the food and refreshments, of course we had Grandma Pat’s “potato salad”. A good time was had by all. Lots of reminiscing, there was a TV and sound system playing “oldies” and some newer music and a video showing pictures from her very full and happy life.
We’re on our way back to South Carolina from California, after going to Lynne’s party, we went to Arizona to finish a job we started in November of last year. We need pictures from everyone! We took mostly video… and don’t have the ability to capture stills from our video camera till we get back home. This is just a short post till we get home and get all the pics together.

Grammalei has been busy!

We’re Here!! We finally made it.

We took off from Cali on Feb 11th, on Feb 20th we pulled into Lexington, South Carolina about 6 PM. Even my 77 year old Mom thinks we’re nuts, in 1966, she drove old Route 66; Los Angeles to Flint, just her with 4 kids, in 3 days.

I guess that makes us special.

As I write this Lei is in Florida again, we haven’t been here a month yet and she is spending her second weekend at Keri’s. Her & Keri and the girls will be driving up Sunday morning, the atlas says it’s about an 8 or 9 hour drive, so of course they will be spending the night in Savannah. If they hurry, the 6 granddaughters will have more time to get to know each other on this trip. We definitely need to get a better picture, I had to fix the red eye on all but, Tory and Ashley, so don’t freak out on the “Doll Eyes”.

Any day now me and Lei will have a minute to write more about our trip and the “Where are we now” posts.

Great news, Keri had her fourth daughter today, Brianna Isabella. She weighed 7lbs. 13oz. and was 20 1/2″ long. Eddie the proud father called us as soon as he could, while “they were putting Keri back together”. She had to have a C-section, because the baby was breech. Mother and daughter are both doing well.

Eddie is the best son-in-law…he got these pictures to us within hours of the delivery. While helping Court and Ash with their homework getting dinner and baths and getting ready for bed and…

Just in case there is actually anyone out there reading these fascinating little blurbs, we have made it easier to subscribe to our feed.

I use a “My Yahoo” page to keep track of my Blogs and news on a daily basis:
I would probably use Google’s version: Add to Google
but I use free Yahoo email for genealogy, I would love Google GMail but I don’t rate.

I put buttons on the right sidebar towards the bottom for one click adding of our stories.

Just in case…
